# Install Poof

Poof gives Reddit separate profiles on your phone. Each profile keeps its own app data and login.

## What you need

- An iPhone X on iOS 16.7.x with palera1n rootless, Sileo and tweak injection enabled. Poof checks compatibility with the installed system build; other devices and jailbreaks are not currently the supported installation target.
- Reddit installed from the App Store.
- Internet access and a Poof access code, available through Telegram above.

If you use Crane, follow the [Crane removal guide](CRANE_MIGRATION.md) first. Avoid running two container tweaks for Reddit at the same time.

## Install and activate

1. In Sileo, open **Sources**, add `https://repo.usepoof.app/`, and let it refresh.
2. Search for **Poof** and install it. Sileo installs its required packages automatically when their sources are available. Complete any action Sileo requests.
3. Open Poof. The bunny animation leads to your profiles while setup runs automatically.
4. Tap the **key** to open **Health & licence**, then enter your access code.
5. Create a profile, select it, and open Reddit through Poof. Sign into the account you want to use in that profile.

Create another profile for another account. To revisit an account, select its existing profile. You do not need to log out between profiles.

## Status and troubleshooting

The light next to the key shows Poof's status. Tap the key for the explanation:

|---|---|
| Green | Licence active and required hooks observed |
| Amber | Checking or waiting for a setup step |
| Red | A confirmed setup or licence problem |

If Reddit was installed after Poof, reopen Poof to finish setup. If the panel offers **Retry setup**, address the displayed issue and use that action. A normal installation does not need manual enrollment, SSH commands, or a separate respring.

Sileo needs access to the sources for ElleKit and the standard Procursus packages. Poof depends on ElleKit, UIKit Tools, shell-cmds, coreutils and grep. If Sileo reports an unavailable dependency, restore its source and retry. Poof cannot install the jailbreak or Reddit for you.

For support, send the displayed error, Poof version, iOS version and Phone ID from the licence panel. Keep access codes, passwords and licence tokens private.

## Update an existing installation

Refresh the source in Sileo and choose **Upgrade** for Poof. Keep Poof, Reddit and your profiles installed. Do not delete app data to update.

After an update, open your existing profile and confirm the account is still signed in. Removing an old Sileo source does not uninstall its packages; you only need `https://repo.usepoof.app/` as the Poof source.

Use [CLI.md](CLI.md) for the complete installed command interface, structured output and recovery operations. Standard installation uses Sileo; command-line access is optional.

An optional [package and documentation kit](poof-kit.zip) contains the same `.deb` as Sileo. Its [archive hash](poof-kit.zip.sha256) and internal `SHA256SUMS` identify the files. Installing a downloaded `.deb` with `dpkg -i` does not resolve missing dependencies; install those through the package manager first.
